Sponsorship Initiative

Seeking out a sponsor and developing a healthy, loving relationship with this person is crucial for each of us in the Fellowship as we are guided through the Twelve Steps. Because it sometimes takes a while to find a sponsor, the Committee has created the Initiative to improve this situation by encouraging sponsorship and making sponsorship comfortable for everyone. To continue on the path of recovery and service, once a person has worked the Twelve Steps with a sponsor, they begin to sponsor others. This is a fundamental aspect of the program.

We would love to hear from you about any specific needs or concerns with finding a sponsor. Everyone in CoDA has a voice. If it’s a concern of yours, it is probably a concern for others.

Finding a sponsor, and the sponsor-sponsee relationship itself, are unique and personal for each member of the CoDA fellowship. There is no “right way” to go about it. Here are some videos that may be helpful in resolving or moving beyond some common concerns that many members have about finding a sponsor. Just click on the Red-White figures to see other members of our fellowship sharing about Sponsorship, or click on the Blue links below for focused video answers on the questions!

What do I do now?

How do I start?

What do I look for?

Do I just keep asking until someone says yes?

Is there a website I can go for more information?

These videos have been brought to you by the ANCoR Outreach Team and its volunteers. In accordance with CoDA traditions, anonymity is maintained in these videos.
